About Nebulosa
Nebulosa is a family-run slow-leisure garment brand rooted in the heart of Mauritius, yet globally inspired. Our designs find their muse in the diversity of cultures around us and the practical human needs.
We live where we design and manufacture, that is precisely why we are connected to the triple bottom-line framework approach. We prioritise fair labour practices, and we are committed to a balanced production model. What that means exactly? Production quantities are deliberately limited to minimise the carbon footprint, allowing for each item to be crafted uniquely, free from waste. In fact most of our garments are made to order. The introduction of a waitlisting feature on Nebulosa website further ensures an exact match between demand and supply, preventing both overproduction and underproduction.

What We Love
Slow Fashion
The slow fashion movement emerged as a response to the negative impacts of fast fashion. It developed to counter the disposable culture. People were seeking ethical, high-quality alternatives. Concerns about the environment, labor practices, and excess consumption fueled this shift. At Nebulosa we value durability, fair working conditions, and eco-consciousness, promoting a more responsible and considerate approach to clothing, aligning with the growing global demand for more balanced products.
The Craft, and all about it
The art of garment cutting and sewing is central to the work. Careful pattern cutting guarantees good fit, while skilled seaming, master stitching techniques, seam finishes, and fabric handling contributes to durability. Simply put, craftsmanship ensures well-constructed, durable pieces with superior fit and aesthetics. The artisan approach contributes to the value of each piece, and it’s an integral part of the creative process.
Francisco Tenorio Junior ‘Nebulosa’ (1964 Rio de Janeiro)
We love music and especially this perky & jazzy bossa nova piece from Francisco Tenorio Junior’s called ‘Nebulosa’. Tenorio recorded only one album, despite being a virtuoso pianist. But this piece is ageless and could easily be mistaken for a nu-jazz track by some French electro-wizard. In fact it was sampled numerous times by many. Check: Nomak, DJ Cam Quartet, A Forest Mighty Black, the list goes on…Incredible tune.
Revived second-hand movement and circular economy
Everyone in Nebulosa detests waste, whether it’s at our workshop or at home, whether it’s water, energy, resources or fabric. It’s not just a brand credo, this is what each of us personally grew to believe. We are into planning, repairing and sharing, not throwing away. Check out our favorite second hand crushes around the world: CRUSH Warsaw, DOUBLE LIFE Mauritius, LOVE VINTAGE Barcelona, PAPAYA STUDIO Bangkok vintage furniture, DASA BOOK CAFE Bangkok.
The Adam Buxton podcast interview with Natalie Wynn aka Contrapoints
This is not a stunt, and not particularly related to garments, and Adam Buxton is not paying us to say this
